The certificate ceremony for the ‘Career School’ programme, organised jointly by Malatya Turgut Özal University's Career Development Application and Research Centre and the Continuing Education Application and Research Centre, was held. Certificates were awarded to participants who successfully completed the programme by receiving training in 16 different fields between 13-14 January 2024 and 20-21 January 2024. The ceremony was attended by Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gündüz, University Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Selim Özkan, MİMSAN Group of Companies Chairman of the Board Enver İlhan, academic and administrative staff, and a large number of students.
Following a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, Dr İnanç Alikılıç, Director of the Career Development Application and Research Centre, addressed the ceremony: "Dear students, by participating in the career school programme, you have done something very important for yourselves. You have laid one of the necessary foundations for entering the workforce. Working life truly requires effort and dedication. The four-year education you will receive here will be sufficient for you to enter working life, but you will need more to advance. Therefore, you now need to plan your career and manage the process in the context of your own goals. It is in this context that we have launched a career school project comprising 32 hours of training across 16 different areas. This training included career planning, software applications, diction, effective speaking, and social media usage, for a total of sixteen different courses. Congratulations to our 85 students who earned their certificates in the career school certificate programme. The more certificates you add to your CV, the more activities you will have participated in that will put you one step ahead of your competitors. This will also help you achieve your desired job. As the Career Development Application and Research Centre, we plan to continue these types of activities and look forward to your participation.
Our university’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli, stated in his speech: “Today, we wanted to benefit from Mr. Enver İlhan’s advice on entrepreneurship and award the Career School programme certificates. As you know, the MİMSAN Group is one of the pioneering organisations that has been serving in Malatya for nearly 40 years. In particular, over the last few months, the MİMSAN Group has also provided support to our Faculty of Engineering. We will now sign a protocol to work together in the fields of energy, industry, and TÜBİTAK projects. We wanted to include Mr Enver İlhan in the Board of Trustees of the Malatya Turgut Özal University Development Foundation, and thankfully he did not refuse us. I am very grateful for this.
Prof. Dr. Recep Bentli stated that the Continuing Education Centre has obtained the TS ISO 29993 Education and Training Services Management System Certificate and that certificates issued from now on can be verified through e-government. He concluded his speech by thanking MİMSAN Board Chairman Enver İlhan, the students, and all the staff for their participation.
MİMSAN Board Chairman Mr Enver İlhan stated in his speech, "The first step in one's career is to be dynamically independent in spirit. One must be oneself. A free and independent mindset brings true success. An engineer is someone who calculates. For this, one must know geometry, and geometry is independence. One must think independently of taboos and limitations." He emphasised the importance of independent and original thinking for progressing in an entrepreneurial structure.
The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants of the ‘Career School’ following the speeches.
